Denmark is located on the South West Coast of Western Australia,
414 Kilometres south east of Perth, in the Great Southern Region along the Rainbow Coast. Denmark has natural attractions galore and a mild climate all year round making it the perfect destination.
The tall forests merge with the pristine white sandy beaches, the magnificent Southern Ocean and the ancient rocks. It sits astride the beautifully curving Denmark River as it gracefully flows into the Wilson Inlet and around 5000 people call it home.
The happy and peaceful locals are very welcoming of visitors creating a wonderfully friendly small-town atmosphere that will having you returning time and time again. It is one of the most historic, stylish and most naturally beautiful destinations in the world.
Nature lovers like Denmark for its pristine beaches, world-class walking trails, prolific wildlife, undulating landscape, ancient towering trees and wildflowers. Denmark is one of nature's most beautiful places with an abundance of spectacular scenery, flora and fauna.
The Wilson Inlet is fed from the Denmark and Hay Rivers and is less than a kilometre south of town. It is almost fifty square kilometres of water and is 14 km long and 4km wide. It is separated from the sea by a sandbar. It is a sanctuary for Black Swans and has been for hundreds of years. Denmark, is known to the aboriginal community as 'Koorabup' meaning 'place of the Black Swan'.

Denmark town centre is peaceful, with no traffic lights and a host of wonderful places to shop as well as delightfully delicious restaurants and cafes.
The ambiance is relaxed and with everything is so close together it is possible to park in one spot and meander through town leisurely. |

| Berridge Park is the main public park area in Denmark town centre and it is located on the river's edge. There is a children's playground, including a fenced in area for toddlers, with ample seating around. The delightful gazebos and picnic benches give plenty of choice for alfresco dining and the huge trees offer plenty of shade during the hot summer months!There are BBQ facilities for your use and clean toilets. Boating and water activities of all types are popular pastimes. at specific times during the year you can hire canoes on the river.
There are plenty of activities around town. The well established Denmark Country Club offers an 18 hole 72 par golf course and tennis courts. The Bowling Club is central to town and popular with the locals and the recreation centre is available for leisure pursuits and a gym.
There is a Dragon Boat Club and a Surf Life Saving Club in town and craft groups such as the spinners, woodturners and quilters sharing their many talents with the community. |

This eco-friendly tidy town is alive with culture and the arts. The diverse range of locals make this a colourful and fun place to be. There are festivals held annually including the Festival of Voice, Brace New Works, the New Earth Festival. There is a Denmark Village Theatre which stages performances as well as a vibrant music scene. The popular Denmark Markets established in 1981 held 4 times a year in Easter, Christmas and January, bring a fabulous selection exquisite local artisans of all types and skills together in a vibrant fun filled atmosphere of music, busking, stage performances, children's activities, food and over 100 stalls offering all types of unique wares. |

Denmark is in an amazing location. Set amongst rolling hills on the tree covered shores of the Wilson Inlet on the banks of the Denmark River. There are still trees from the dinosaur days and a shoreline unchanged since it broke away from Antarctica thousands of years ago. At the Valley of the Giants you have the opportunity to walk up and into the tops of the trees on a safe metal walkway suspended high in the a ir. The world famous Bibbulmun Track winds right through the heart of Denmark offering magnificent scenery on a well maintained walking trail with sleeping huts and basic facilities along the way. Ocean beach is a popular surfing beach. The Denmark Surf Life Saving Club patrol Ocean Beach on weekends from December to March. |

There are so many varied opportunities to tantalise your taste buds in Denmark. Enjoy a divine swiss chocolate fondue at the fabulous Chocolate Lounge just our of town or have coffee and cake on the sidewalk of one of the trendy cafes as you watch the world go. There are great take away food choices all over town and delicious organic fruit, veggies plus more culinary delights at The Source on Fig Tree Square... create your own picnic!
Indulge in the most delicious pies and pastries at the award winning Denmark Bakery or enjoy a wood fired pizza and a beer at Denmark's first microbrewery, the Boston Brewery at the Willoughby Park Winery. There are numerous restaurants dotted throughout the area, with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor dining options including wineries with gourmet foods, cafes and restaurants.
The Healthy Buddha Bar is one of the new eating options in town. The surroundings are peaceful, the decor perfect. The nooks and crannies around the restaurant are intriguing and the outdoor verandah is perfect for sitting with children who need to run around. It is open 7 days from 11 till late serving meals and coffees all day.
You could have a sumptious meal in a divine lakeside location at The Lake House whilst sipping award winning wine or tasting their gourmet range of foods. Or maybe have a healthy lunch after your relaxing massage at the first class Spa Retreat, Chimes. Cool off with an icecream and some home-grown honey at Bartholomews Meadery, well worth a visit, and you get to see the bees at work which is fascinating for all.
The Old Butter Factory was built in 1926, has three levels. Mrs Jones is a great new cafe set within the grounds offering fabulous food in a very relaxed and family friendly environment. You can enjoy good food at the Denmark Hotel which gives you a nice river view from the outdoor seating area.
The cafes in the courtyards off Strickland Street offer seating and Bento Box down by the river has a fabulous range of sushi, and other culinary delights including great gelato! They also sell coffees, teas and giftware. You can dine in or take away. That's just a few of the tasty morsels on offer... the next one is just around the corner... |

There are three shopping courtyards on Strickland Street (the main street in Denmark), each offering a distinctly different range. The Denmark Health Shop offers all health related products and a range of fresh produce.
The alluring gift shops will entice you with their objets d'art and the boutiques filled with fabulous clothing including quality surf wear, shoes, jewellery, accessories and more make Denmark a perfect destination for gift shopping! The Denmark Department store adds to the chic of this hippie country town. Children's toys are a speciality with them showing up in all sorts of shops, you can really find those special things that children delight in.
Tea House Books offers books, music, toys, games and rare gift items that are sure to surprise and delight. There is also a second hand bookshops in town a few doors up called Odyssey. Denmark, a region of terrestrial bio diversity |

This region of WA is in the top nine terrestrial habitats for terrestrial bio diversity in the world, with a higher proportion of endemic species than other equivalent regions. The wildflowers and fauna are spectacular with many unique species choosing Denmark as their home! Thanks to the offshore Leeuwin Current the area numbers in the top six regions for marine bio diversity, containing the most southerly coral reefs in the world.
