Madfish Bay, William Bay National Park, Denmark WA

Madfish Bay Beach is pretty spectacular.

Set at the eastern end of William Bay National Park, the beauty of Madfish Bay is spectacular.

Madfish is special

Madfish Bay is one of the 'special' locations in Denmark Western Australia. It's a popular location during school-holidays and is one of the best places to spend the day in paradise.

Many fish are known to inhabit the waters around Madfish Bay including whiting, bream and salmon. There are usually a few schools in the shallow waters from the car park pathway.

The descent from the car park is a sand and wood staircase led us directly on to the beach.

The island you can see just offshore is known to house snakes, but it accessible by foot. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.

Madfish Bay and Beach Denmark

Relaxing coves

Madfish Bay is actually a group of small beaches separated by natural rock outcroppings. The waters are somewhat sheltered with large rock-reefs not far off shore. The turquoise waters of Madfish Bay in summer are truly magnificent.

The waves at this beach come from two different directions.

PARKING: There is one car park at Madfish Bay, and a gradual sloping staircase to descend to the beach.

SAFETY: The Great Southern Ocean can be a few degrees colder than the other oceans, so if you intend to snorkel we recommend a wet suit. Watch the rips and never swim alone.

GETTING HERE: Madfish Bay is on the Williams Bay National Park Map below. Located 15k West of Denmark along the South Coast Highway.
